Asesewa Township roads and other major roads linking farming communities at Manya Krobo in the Eastern Region, are set to be constructed in the first quarter of 2018.<\/p>\n
The Minister of Roads and Highways, Kwasi Amoako Attah, who made this revelation at Asesewa in the Upper Manya Krobo District of the Eastern Region during President Nana Addo’s tour of the region, said the construction of the roads will open trade and facilitate easy accessibility for the transportation of food items and other farm produce to boost the economy.<\/p>\n
“We are lucky to have a President who does not relent in his efforts. He has ordered me to construct those roads as soon as possible to prove to the people of Manya Krobo his love and appreciation”.<\/p>\n
“From January next year [2018], we are going to undertake the construction of Akatewia and Tewenya feeder roads covering 21 kilometres with bitumen on it. We are going to put bitumen on Korlela Apogo Asesewa roads covering 29 kilometres”.<\/p>\n
He added that “again, we are going to reconstruct Asesewa town roads which will cover a distance of 15.2 kilometers from Okremekuku road, Johannes street, Nartey Bonney road, Chief Baah road, RC junction to Zongo road, Nutrition centRE, Akatatin road, Nyabroduo street and Ofei Bosu road.”<\/p>\n
The Minister of Roads and Highways, however indicated that, speed tables will be constructed on all the roads to ensure the safety of residents.<\/p>\n
“We are going to give Asesewa a face-lift of all your roads, and because your safety is important to us, we will see to it that adequate speed ramps are constructed on all these roads with the appropriate road signals and warnings for your safety. All these things will be done in the first quarter of next year, and latest by February 2018 ending, I will be here with the Eastern Regional Minister and his deputy to cut sod for the construction of these roads”.<\/p>\n
The Deputy Eastern Regional Minister, Joseph Tetteh, who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Upper Manya, was however grateful for the news on the construction of the roads and other projects.<\/p>\n
“Mr. President,\u00a0 I must say I am the happiest person in this region, and words alone cannot describe my feelings. I am grateful for your continuous support and the love you have over the years exhibited for the entire krobo land”.<\/p>\n
“Let me assure you that with all these projects, the Upper Manya Krobo parliamentary seat is already assured, and we will continue to work earnestly to wrestle the other two seats for our party”.<\/p>\n
