to consider various proposed amendments to the party\u2019s Constitution.<\/p>\n<p>The event, held in Kumasi was a follow up to the Annual National Delegates Conference at Cape Coast in August this year, at which various proposals were made for amendments to the party\u2019s constitution.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-384141\" #800080;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/12\/17\/delegates-arrive-in-kumasi-for-npp-conference-photos\/\"><strong>Tens of thousands<\/strong><\/a><\/span> of delegates supporters and sympathisers of the NPP from across the country, trooped to the Heroes Park, with some of them turning up in the Ashanti Regional capital as early as Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>They were joined by a number of the party&#8217;s bigwigs, including President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Members of Parliament, Ministers of State and many of the national, regional and constituency executives of the party.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-384140\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/3bf63971-efc7-41d0-8d51-35920fef766c.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"675\" height=\"450\" sanitation<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/12\/17\/npp-conference-hygiene-prioritised-amid-swine-flu-fears-photos\/\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"> took\u00a0<\/span>center<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/12\/17\/npp-conference-hygiene-prioritised-amid-swine-flu-fears-photos\/\"><strong> stage<\/strong><\/a><\/span> at the Park before the event following the outbreak of H1N1 influenza type A at the Kumasi Academy which has claimed about four lives in the last month.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-384138\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/0c6bd24c-8bc3-4a0e-ad2b-29661a72585d.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"675\" part of efforts to ensure the health of the over 20,000 delegates, mounted several mobile hand sanitizer stands to avert any bacterial and viral infections during the event.<\/p>\n<p>The entire venue was also subjected to a disinfection exercise.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-384020\" sanitizers to persons entering the main conference grounds to prevent infections.<\/p>\n<p>The event began with speeches from a number of the\u00a0personalities gathered, including Dr. Bawumia, the Northern Regional Chairman, Bugri Naabu and the party&#8217;s Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard\u00a0Antwi Boasiako,\u00a0popularly known as Chairman\u00a0Wontumi.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-384146\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/ba4c3cd8-ce00-4393-a931-8df5821cb138.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"675\" height=\"450\" stage, announcing that the party&#8217;s Congress had decided to <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/12\/17\/controversial-npp-constitutional-amendment-proposals-withdrawn\/\"><strong>withdraw three \u2018controversial\u2019 proposals<\/strong><\/a><\/span> that had been submitted for amendment to the Constitution.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-384147\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/e087a9be-1399-484f-a0df-2a1ee1c0644e.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"675\" height=\"450\" would have been a disaster for the party to adopt the proposals, which included the appointment of constituency executives by members of Parliament, that party members with dual citizenship should be disqualified from contesting for any party position and that the flagbearer of the party should be considered as the leader of the party.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large majority leader, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu who stated that two of the parliamentary group\u2019s proposals would be withdrawn.<\/p>\n<p>The President also said that the government has put structures in place to ensure that the\u00a0country\u2019s unemployment challenges are addressed.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-384154\" an economy in dire straits, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration has worked assiduously\u00a0towards ensuring that <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/12\/17\/foundation-laid-jobs-nana-addo\/\"><strong>job opportunities\u00a0are created<\/strong><\/a><\/span> for Ghanaians.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Agyapong, <a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/12\/17\/suspended-kwabena-agyapong-spotted-at-npp-conference-photos\/\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>was spotted<\/strong><\/span><\/a> at the Conference in a white Jalabiyyah with a Keffiyeh to match<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-384151\"
