{"id":383391,"date":"2017-12-14T17:05:30","date_gmt":"2017-12-14T17:05:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=383391"},"modified":"2017-12-14T18:47:37","modified_gmt":"2017-12-14T18:47:37","slug":"juliet-asante-launches-yaa-asantewaa-library-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/12\/juliet-asante-launches-yaa-asantewaa-library-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Juliet Asante launches &#8216;Yaa Asantewaa Library Project&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ghanaian actress and film producer, Juliet Asante, has launched a project to build container libraries and stock them with books in various communities in Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative, dubbed Yaa Asantewaa Library project, is mobilizing Ghc1 and $1 donations from the public to fund it.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-383397\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Yaa-Asantewaa-Library-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"644\" height=\"720\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Yaa-Asantewaa-Library-2.jpg 644w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Yaa-Asantewaa-Library-2-268x300.jpg 268w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 644px) 100vw, 644px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>She said the goal is to have at least one library in every district in the country to promote reading.<\/p>\n<p>Juliet Asante said every child deserves the right to read a book, and she is determined to give Ghanaian children that opportunity to &#8220;travel the world through books.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>An online crowdfunding campaign has been initiated on Indiegogo to receive support from the public for the project.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Every child deserves the right to enjoy the pleasure of reading regularly&#8230;It is that simple, and you can help make that happen now,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-383398\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Yaa-Asantewaa-Library-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"720\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Yaa-Asantewaa-Library-3.jpg 540w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Yaa-Asantewaa-Library-3-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>She said the project is presently working to stock a community library in the Upper East Nyokoko district and the new Juabeng area in the Ashanti Region.<\/p>\n<p>The project is being coordinated online at <a href=\"https:\/\/m.facebook.com\/LibraryProjectGH\/\">Library Project GH<\/a>\u00a0and yaaasantewalibraryproject.org\u2019.
