The Member of Parliament for Bunkprugu Constituency in the Northern Region, Solomon Boar, has condemned the killing of four persons at Najong number 1 over the weekend.<\/p>\n
Whilst consoling families of the dead, he has also asked the police to fast-track their investigations and bring the perpetrators to book.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”zwJpN7nzasllbCYBGIJuSWEitvFGXkpz”]Solomon Boar in a Citi News<\/strong> interview described the killing as barbaric, and insisted that the perpetrators must not go unpunished.<\/p>\n “First and foremost, I want to extend my condolences to the families that have been affected by this heinous crime, wicked and barbaric act that took place yesterday [Sunday] at Najong number 1. This is something I consider as generally unacceptable, and it is my prayer that those behind this heinous crime are brought to book.”<\/p>\n “I call on the security agencies to ensure that they work assiduously to apprehend those people.”<\/p>\n The Bunkprugu Legislator, who is also Deputy Northern Regional Minister, pleaded with residents of the entire Bunkprugu\/Yunyoo district to deepen their peaceful coexistence.<\/p>\n “Let me also call on all those in Bunkprugu and Yunyoo constituencies to remain calm and give peace a chance. This is the time that we have to stand together to ensure that these faceless human beings are apprehended so that calm can return to the area,” he emphasized.<\/p>\n Four persons died whilst 11 got wounded following sporadic gunshots on Sunday November 10 at Najong number 1, a community in the Bunkprugu\/Yunyoo district of the Northern Region.<\/p>\n Some residents, particularly women and children have fled the area. The cause of the gunshots is yet to be established though tension has heightened there.<\/p>\n A similar situation occurred on November 17, 2017 over the siting of the capital of the yet to be created Yunyoo district.<\/p>\n On Friday December 8, 2017 six suspected arms smugglers including a woman were arrested for attempting to smuggle six pump action guns and 130 cartridges into Yunyoo.<\/p>\n The suspects are in police custody for further investigations.<\/p>\n Disagreements over the location of the capital of the yet to be created Yunyoo district is causing fear and panic around the Bunkprugu enclave.<\/p>\n Some are proposing Namong to be the capital whilst others are pushing for Bunkprugu.<\/p>\n –<\/p>\n By: Abdul Karim Naatogmah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The Member of Parliament for Bunkprugu Constituency in the Northern Region, Solomon Boar, has condemned the killing of four persons at Najong number 1 over the weekend.
