<\/a>Two days after maintenance works at the Kpong water treatment plant was completed, residents in the eastern parts of Accra, Tema and its environs say they are still experiencing water shortages.<\/p>\nThe Ghana Water Company assured that the maintenance works would add additional three million gallons of water after completion.<\/p>\n
A resident of Tema who spoke to Citi News, said \u201cI haven\u2019t seen any of the officials of Ghana Water Company around\u201d<\/p>\n
Another said \u201cwe are managing with the shortage; we have to buy water from other people.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe complained to the Ghana Water company and they are yet to respond to us.\u201d<\/p>\n
However residents in the above mentioned areas say they still don\u2019t have water. According to Citi News\u2019 correspondent at Tema, Elvis Washington, residents in Tema and Accra are still experiencing water shortage.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile the Director of Public Affairs at the Ghana Water Company Limited, Michael Agyemang Prempeh says although his outfit has completed the maintenance works, they are still rationing water.<\/p>\n
According to him, \u201cresidents in Ashaiman will get water on Thursday, while Sakumono, Lashibi and its environs will get their share of the rationing on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr. Agyemang added that the 3.3 million gallons of water will be produced daily after the maintenance will be ready for distribution after 3 months.<\/p>\n
