The<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/12\/04\/kumasi-academy-deaths-family-deceased-threatens-suit\/\">\u00a0bereaved family<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0says the authorities failed to take proper care of students who fell sick, but rather concentrated on activities to mark the 60th-anniversary celebration of the school.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-380245\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Kumasi-academy-3-1024x576.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"349\" \/><\/p>\n<p>According to the family, the deceased contracted the disease when he voluntarily took a colleague with a suspected case of meningitis to the hospital. He is believed to have died from meningitis, although the Municipal Chief Executive of Asokore Mampong, Alhaji Alidu Seidu, has told\u00a0<strong>Citi News<\/strong>\u00a0that the\u00a0<em>Noguchi<\/em>\u00a0Memorial Institute for Medical Research will present a report on the cause of deaths on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Four students died earlier this year, whilst three died just last week, prompting parents to raise concern about the safety of their wards in the school.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Citi News&#8217;<\/strong>\u00a0Ashanti Regional Correspondent, Hafiz Tijani, reported on Tuesday that, some parents had started reporting to the school, insisting they want to take their wards home over the &#8216;mysterious&#8217; deaths.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-380213\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/KUMACA-report-7-768x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"827\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/KUMACA-report-7-768x1024.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/KUMACA-report-7-225x300.jpeg 225w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/KUMACA-report-7.jpeg 780w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The deceased,\u00a0Clementina Konadu, a form two Science student, died on Tuesday dawn at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) hospital, where dozens of other students are on admission.<\/p>\n<p>Police officers have been deployed to the Kumasi Academy to maintain order after parents trooped to the school to pick up their wards.<\/p>\n<p>The angry parents were initially prevented from entering the school after the school&#8217;s security blocked the main entrance.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-380243\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Kumasi-academy-1-1024x576.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"349\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Kumasi-academy-1-1024x576.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Kumasi-academy-1-300x169.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Kumasi-academy-1-768x432.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Kumasi-academy-1.jpeg 1080w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Some of the parents who forced their way through the school have successfully taken away their wards.
