{"id":379219,"date":"2017-12-01T08:28:33","date_gmt":"2017-12-01T08:28:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=379219"},"modified":"2017-12-01T08:28:33","modified_gmt":"2017-12-01T08:28:33","slug":"newmont-tops-ghana-club-100-rankings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/12\/newmont-tops-ghana-club-100-rankings\/","title":{"rendered":"Newmont tops Ghana Club 100 rankings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Newmont Golden Ridge Limited has been crowned as the number one company at this year\u2019s edition of the Ghana Club 100 awards.<\/p>\n<p>The company beat off competition from over ninety other companies to assume the coveted position.<\/p>\n<p>This is the second time the mining company has assumed the coveted position.<\/p>\n<p>Aside winning the topmost award on the night, Newmont also picked 1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0runner up in Corporate Social Responsibility as well as second runner up in most profitable company for the year.<\/p>\n<p>An obviously elated General Manager for Newmont Golden Ridge Limited, Yup Coenen shared the rationale behind the success with\u00a0<strong>Citi Business News<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne thing that we are doing very differently is focusing on our environment, focusing on our safety, focusing on our community and it is my view that if you have those things right then the production and cost control and set up becomes again much easier, obviously we have to keep our cost under control because we no control over gold price,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-79593 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/citibusinessnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/B5-1.jpeg\" alt=\"B5 1\" width=\"600\" height=\"393\" \/><\/p>\n<p>MTN and GOIL assumed the second and third position in the Ghana Club 100.
