The Lands and Natural Resources Minister, John Peter Amewu, says government will resort to the law courts to halt all projects on encroached portions of the Sakumono Ramsar Site.

The site used to be a habitat for fishes and other water creatures, as well as a stopover for migrating birds.

It emerged during the Minister’s tour today [Tuesday], that a large portion of the site has been encroached by private people.

Mr. Amewu, who could not fathom what he saw, publicly reprimanded the Director of Operations of the Wildlife Division of the Forestry Commission, David Kpelle.
