{"id":373688,"date":"2017-11-14T17:21:20","date_gmt":"2017-11-14T17:21:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=373688"},"modified":"2017-11-14T17:21:20","modified_gmt":"2017-11-14T17:21:20","slug":"bawumia-cuts-sod-for-cement-factory-under-1-district-1-factory","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/11\/bawumia-cuts-sod-for-cement-factory-under-1-district-1-factory\/","title":{"rendered":"Bawumia cuts sod for cement factory under &#8216;1-District-1-Factory&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Vice President, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, has cut sod for the establishment of a new cement factory in Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>The $30 million Ilam Cement factory will be located at Dawa Industrial City in Accra, and it is expected to be completed in two years.<\/p>\n<p>The factory also falls under the Akufo-Addo administration\u2019s One-District-One-Factory programme.<\/p>\n<p>90% of the factory is however foreign-owned by Iran, whilst a Ghanaian individual owns 10% of the business.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-373703\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/ilam-cement-factory-Bawumia-cuts-sod-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"396\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-373702\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/ilam-cement-factory-Bawumia-cuts-sod-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"495\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The agreement for its construction was signed when the Dr. Bawumia visited Iran in August 2017, for the inauguration of Iranian President, Hassan Rouhani.<\/p>\n<p>This factory is expected to bolster the Akufo-Addo administration\u2019s efforts to bolster Ghana\u2019s industrial and infrastructure development.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo ensure the development of a country, it is necessary to have some key development tools and you would also agree with me that one of the characteristics is growing infrastructure.
