said new United boss Louis van Gaal.<\/p>\n<p>Midfielder Gerrard slotted home from the spot in the 14th minute after defender Phil Jones brought down winger Raheem Sterling.<\/p>\n<p>But striker Rooney, captaining United, scored the equaliser &#8211;
