A 38-year-old man has been hurled before a court for stabbing his ex-lover after she snubbed him at a funeral.<\/p>\n
The accused, Daniel Nunoo, who has been washing cars for a living, bolted after committing the crime was but later arrested.<\/p>\n
An Accra District Court that heard the case on Tuesday adjourned it to November 21.<\/p>\n
He has provisionally been charged with attempted murder.<\/p>\n
Nunoo whose plea was not taken has been remanded into Police custody.<\/p>\n
Prosecuting Detective Sergeant Simeon Terkpor told the court that, the complainant, Charlotte Kai Adjetey, aged 29, is a cook residing at La, Accra.<\/p>\n
The accused person also resides in the same area.<\/p>\n
According to Sergeant Terkpor, the accused and Ms Adjetey were in a relationship and cohabited and had a nine year old child.<\/p>\n
The Prosecution said due to Nunoo\u2019s constant abuse on Ms Adjetey; the complainant opted out of the relationship and the accused became peeved.<\/p>\n
On October 8, this year, Nunoo and Ms Adjetey happened to have attended the same funeral.<\/p>\n
The prosecution said the complainant at a point in time decided to leave the funeral grounds.<\/p>\n
Nunoo then called her but the complainant ignored him.<\/p>\n
Detective Sergeant Terkpor said Nunoo then grabbed Ms Adjetey and stabbed her with an implement upon\u00a0after which Ms Adjetey bled into unconsciousness.<\/p>\n
He said \u201cThe accused person left the complainant to her fate, however she was rescued by two men, who rushed her to the 37 Military Hospital where she was admitted and two surgeries performed on her.\u201d<\/p>\n
On October 18, this year, Detective Terkpor said Nunoo was arrested.<\/p>\n
