{"id":36825,"date":"2014-08-04T15:48:27","date_gmt":"2014-08-04T15:48:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=36825"},"modified":"2014-08-04T15:48:27","modified_gmt":"2014-08-04T15:48:27","slug":"calm-returns-to-larteh-akuapem","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/08\/calm-returns-to-larteh-akuapem\/","title":{"rendered":"Calm returns to Larteh-Akuapem"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Calm has returned to Larteh Akuapem after scores of irate youth, on Saturday, went on rampage in the area.<\/p>\n<p>The youth, in an attempt to destool the Lartehhene and Benkumhene of the Akuapem Traditional area, Osabarimah Asiedu Oko Ababio, reportedly fired gun shots and tried to burn down the chief\u2019s palace.<\/p>\n<p>However the \u00a0Eastern region Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Ayisi, told <b>Citi News <\/b>that they have taken certain steps to bring the situation under control.<\/p>\n<p>According to Chief Superintendent Ayisi, the police \u201care on the ground protecting the palace\u201d and surveilling \u201call other necessary places we think people may destroy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added that the police were not as yet sure of \u201cthe cause of the chieftaincy problem\u201d but were committed to ensuring that peace is maintained.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn order that there will be no violence, we are here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe won\u2019t allow anybody to act violently and we are sure there will be no problem,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Edwin Kwakofi\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Calm has returned to Larteh Akuapem after scores of irate youth, on Saturday, went on rampage in the area.
