The National Teacher\u2019s Council will soon undertake a mass licensing of pre-tertiary education teachers across the country to ensure efficiency and professionalism in their work.<\/p>\n
The pilot project is expected to commence in October before the actual registration exercise kicks off later in 2015.<\/p>\n
Briefing the press on Monday, the Executive Secretary-designate of the National Teacher\u2019s Council, Dr Augustine Tawiah revealed that, teachers in both private and public school will be registered.<\/p>\n
According to him, the rationale behind this project is to ensure that, teachers are well trained and teachers and competent enough to man the various educational institutions in the country.<\/p>\n
This project is also expected to help the council determine why pupils in private schools do better that their public school counterparts at the basic level.<\/p>\n
Mr. Tawiah further revealed that, licensing office will also focus on research to help improve education at the basic level.<\/p>\n
