Three participants from Ghana, for this year\u2019s Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) have been each awarded a $25,000 grant from USADF.<\/p>\n
The three Ghanaian YALI fellows Regina Agyare, Dziedzorm “Jay Jay” Segbefia and Ruka Yaro were awarded the grant after submitting proposals on what projects they will use the funds for.<\/p>\n
The three are part of the first 36 YALI participants to receive the grant.<\/p>\n
The YALI participants are expected to use the funds to execute market plans, conduct technical studies, pilot products and services, expand their facilities, or make progress on other business development activities.<\/p>\n
As part of the Washington Fellowship in the Young African Leaders Initiative, USADF is awarding grants of up to $25,000 each to entrepreneurs starting up or expanding their enterprises.<\/p>\n
In July, USADF awarded $900,000 to 36 social and business entrepreneurs to impact Africa by creating jobs and new economic opportunities.<\/p>\n
USADF has committed $5 million over the next three years to the YALI Entrepreneurship Grants.<\/p>\n
The next round of the competition will be in 2015.<\/p>\n
