{"id":366265,"date":"2017-10-28T15:59:25","date_gmt":"2017-10-28T15:59:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=366265"},"modified":"2017-10-28T15:59:25","modified_gmt":"2017-10-28T15:59:25","slug":"2nd-edition-of-african-bikini-accessories-fashion-show-launched","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/10\/2nd-edition-of-african-bikini-accessories-fashion-show-launched\/","title":{"rendered":"2nd edition of African Bikini &#038; Accessories fashion show launched"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">The Street Fashion Train Limited in Collaboration with the National Commission on Culture (NCC), and the National Theatre, have launched this year\u2019s edition of the African Bikini and Accessories Fashion Show, slated for 8th December, 2017, at the National Theatre.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The launch, which was held at the National Theatre\u00a0on Thursday, 26th October, 2017, was attended by prominent creative industry players and various media professionals.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">This year\u2019s edition of the event, which is the\u00a0second, is built on the successes chalked by the <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/12\/29\/abeiku-santana-catwalks-at-african-bikini-fashion-show-photos\/\">maiden edition<\/a><\/strong><\/span> held at the Holiday Inn Hotel in December\u00a02016.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-366268\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Street-Fashion-Train-Limited-9-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"street-fashion-train-limited-9\" width=\"620\" height=\"414\" \/><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In an interview with citifmonline.com,\u00a0the C.E.O of the Street Fashion Train LTD, Mr. Benjamin Mills, said the event is aimed at creating more opportunities at a lesser cost for what he calls \u2018\u2019the lesser known fashion trends.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Explaining further, the man who seemed to be highly concerned about the progress of the fashion industry in Ghana and Africa, said &#8220;You know, in sports, we label some as lesser-known sports such as volleyball and co. Same way, in the fashion industry, we have lesser-known fashion trends which are mostly accessories such as bags, bracelets and bikini. Hardly would you come by a fashion show purposely for bikini and accessories. Our event is to create a new and affordable opportunity for fashion designers to exhibit their accessories and bikini on a platform created purposely for them.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-366273\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Street-Fashion-Train-Limited-3-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"street-fashion-train-limited-3\" width=\"620\" height=\"414\" \/><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Mr. Socrate Safo, the Director of Creative Arts and Programmes of the National Commission on Culture, lauded the initiative, saying their doors are always opened to the general public for collaborations to sell the Ghanaian Culture to the International world as well as create jobs for the youth.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">At the event, chaired by Mr. Toffic Drah, who is a representative from the National Theatre, a monthly fashion show captioned \u2018\u2019SANKOFA FASHION AND EXHIBITION SHOW\u2019\u2019 was also launched.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-366272\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Street-Fashion-Train-Limited-2-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"street-fashion-train-limited-2\" width=\"620\" height=\"414\" \/><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">According to Mr. Benjamin Mills, the SANKOFA FASHION AND EXHIBITION SHOW, which is the brainchild of Mr. Socrate Safo, would start from 2018, and would happen once every month.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">This he said would create an opportunity for fashion designers to rebrand the traditional fashion styles of Ghanaians such as the famous Kaba and Slit, hence the name \u2018\u2019SANKOFA\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-366275\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Street-Fashion-Train-Limited-5-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"street-fashion-train-limited-5\" width=\"620\" height=\"414\" \/><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Prominent among those who attended the programme are Ghanaian Comedian and Actor, Papa Nii, Actress Edinam Atatsi, Mrs Leonora Buckman; the President of Women in Performing Arts, Celebrated Radio Presenter and promoter, Abeiku Santana, and some\u00a0media personalities.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Attendees were treated to a sketch fashion show expressing the magnitude of the main event to be held on the 8th\u00a0of December, 2017 at the National Theatre.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">By: citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Street Fashion Train Limited in Collaboration with the National Commission on Culture (NCC), and the National Theatre, have launched this year\u2019s edition of the African Bikini and Accessories Fashion Show, slated for 8th December, 2017, at the National Theatre.
