The Minister of Defence, Dominic Nitiwul, on Tuesday, laid before parliament, the Major Mahama\u00a0Trust Fund Bill, which would give the legal backing for the establishment of a fund<\/strong><\/a><\/span> to cater for the wife and two children of the Late Major Maxwell Mahama<\/a>.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Major Mahama, who was lynched under bizarre circumstances at Denkyira-Obuasi in the Central Region in May 2017, was part of a task-force deployed to root out\u00a0illegal mining in the area.<\/p>\n [contextly_sidebar id=”bEwWBtqrNpAQtvgDgMRdn8iuY18Qbhrs”]President Akufo-Addo,\u00a0 following the incident, pledged to establish a Memorial Trust Fund with a seed money of GH\u00a2 500,000 in honour of the officer.<\/p>\n
