{"id":364996,"date":"2017-10-25T11:06:33","date_gmt":"2017-10-25T11:06:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=364996"},"modified":"2017-10-25T11:06:33","modified_gmt":"2017-10-25T11:06:33","slug":"investigations-begin-into-collapsing-kumasi-storey-building","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/10\/investigations-begin-into-collapsing-kumasi-storey-building\/","title":{"rendered":"Investigations begin into &#8216;collapsing&#8217; Kumasi storey-building"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Police Service in the Ashanti Region, has commenced investigations into a storey building close to the Asafo interchange that is reportedly caving in.<\/p>\n<p>Officers from the Ghana National Fire Service, the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), as well as the Police, responded to a distress call from traders who were in the collapsing structure.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/605412c7-6588-48cc-83ed-67b0018a12ac.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-365000\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/605412c7-6588-48cc-83ed-67b0018a12ac.jpg\" alt=\"605412c7-6588-48cc-83ed-67b0018a12ac\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The structure has since been barricaded and preparations are underway to evacuate properties from it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/fe13c6e7-10b3-45d0-b516-2c81f80144e2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-365004\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/fe13c6e7-10b3-45d0-b516-2c81f80144e2.jpg\" alt=\"fe13c6e7-10b3-45d0-b516-2c81f80144e2\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Police have declared the place a danger zone, and have also cordoned off the entire area.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/d03eb030-3880-4707-8244-96282e411a2f.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-365003\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/d03eb030-3880-4707-8244-96282e411a2f.jpg\" alt=\"d03eb030-3880-4707-8244-96282e411a2f\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>They have since blocked off the main stretch from the Asafo interchange to the Kumasi Central Market.<\/p>\n<p>The owner of the building ,Fiifi Daniel, told <strong>Citi News<\/strong> that he suspects foul play.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/ae7f7be2-0fe5-4226-9ee0-f6777d82bb34.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-365001\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/ae7f7be2-0fe5-4226-9ee0-f6777d82bb34.jpg\" alt=\"ae7f7be2-0fe5-4226-9ee0-f6777d82bb34\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>According to him, some unknown assailants\u00a0chiselled the main pillars holding the building.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Hafiz Tijani\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Police Service in the Ashanti Region, has commenced investigations into a storey building close to the Asafo interchange that is reportedly caving in.
