{"id":364213,"date":"2017-10-23T07:47:32","date_gmt":"2017-10-23T07:47:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=364213"},"modified":"2017-10-23T07:47:32","modified_gmt":"2017-10-23T07:47:32","slug":"10-finalists-named-for-citi-fms-literacy-challenge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/10\/10-finalists-named-for-citi-fms-literacy-challenge\/","title":{"rendered":"10 finalists named for Citi FM\u2019s Literacy Challenge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The ten Junior High School (JHS) students who made it to the finals of <strong>Citi FM\u2019s<\/strong> Literacy Challenge, have been named, to participate in the final contest, that will see the overall winner take home an amount of GHc10,000 among other prizes.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement was made on the <strong>Citi Breakfast Show<\/strong> today [Monday].<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;ll4OJhaPEkIkKbqroiUL7BoAeGkmAsvN&#8221;]Out of the 10 contestants, eight are from schools in the Greater Accra Region, whereas the other two\u00a0are from schools in Brong Ahafo and Upper West Regions respectively.<\/p>\n<p>The ten are those who scored highest in Level II [an aptitude test] of the competition, which was organized on Saturday [October 21] at the British Council in Accra.<\/p>\n<p>The contestants, who made it to Level II, were among 50 students from various schools across the country, who wrote the aptitude test on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to the aptitude test, all 50 students received 500 cedis each, a certificate, and a medal for making it to level II of the contest.<\/p>\n<p>Level III, which is the final round, will be a quiz competition which will be broadcast live on television.<\/p>\n<p>The final event, scheduled for October 28, 2017, will take place at the Swiss Spirit Hotel &amp; Suites Alisa in Accra.<\/p>\n<p>The 10 contestants will be camped at the plush hotel for two days, where they will be treated to a lot of fun activities in preparation for the finals.<\/p>\n<p>The Literacy Challenge was launched on July 19, 2017, for JHS students in Ghana to write and suggest to the president how to make Accra the cleanest city in Africa.<\/p>\n<p>After the entries were submitted, external examiners marked the scripts and selected the top 50 who went to the British Council to write the aptitude test.<\/p>\n<p>The Literacy Challenge is sponsored by BIC Pen, Milky Magic Biscuit, Cowbell and Slydepay.<\/p>\n<p>Below is the list of the Top 10 contestants:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Top 10<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>1.<\/strong>\u00a0Krystyn Naa Adoley Bruce, Christ the King Int.
