{"id":363706,"date":"2017-10-21T09:03:02","date_gmt":"2017-10-21T09:03:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=363706"},"modified":"2017-10-21T09:03:02","modified_gmt":"2017-10-21T09:03:02","slug":"atu-partners-enterprise-life-to-provide-practical-marketing-training","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/10\/atu-partners-enterprise-life-to-provide-practical-marketing-training\/","title":{"rendered":"ATU partners Enterprise Life to provide practical marketing training"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Accra Technical University has partnered with Enterprise Life Insurance to provide practical training in buying and selling for the final year students of the University who are studying marketing.<\/p>\n<p>The project or program is supposed to aid in the implementation of Act 992, which resulted in the conversion from Accra Polytechnic to Accra Technical University.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/30059cf7-3847-42e1-81ed-51227463f8df.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-363729\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/30059cf7-3847-42e1-81ed-51227463f8df.jpg\" alt=\"30059cf7-3847-42e1-81ed-51227463f8df\" width=\"797\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Dean of School of Business and Management Studies, Mr. Ernest Christian Winful, said he\u00a0was very happy the Act was being implemented as it will help the practicalities of every course&#8217;s field work and encourage the habit of using technology.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Just\u00a0a few years ago, our name was changed from Accra Polytechnic to Accra Technical University by Act 922. The Act mandates us that our teaching or focus should be competency-based,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/18355e0a-4976-4814-bfd3-459670f4c3c0.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-363728\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/18355e0a-4976-4814-bfd3-459670f4c3c0.jpg\" alt=\"18355e0a-4976-4814-bfd3-459670f4c3c0\" width=\"797\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s a big challenge looking at the number of students we have available. How can we achieve this? I&#8217;m very happy that by the act, an insurance company Enterprise Life Assurance is giving us that assurance that we can live up to that expectations. I think with the name &#8216;life&#8217; means we have life for ATU&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The project which is set to run every year for final year students in the marketing department, is to assess them not only on theory-based projects but practical ones as well.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/76a658bd-1643-426d-aa62-6aad094542dc.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-363727\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/76a658bd-1643-426d-aa62-6aad094542dc.jpg\" alt=\"76a658bd-1643-426d-aa62-6aad094542dc\" width=\"797\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Speaking to the students, Mr.\u00a0Winful added &#8220;the competency-based training has four main areas following the MoU some of which is to stick to the focus from trainers to trainees. Align competence with assertion. So we are no just going to assess you based on the chew, pour pass and forget, but rather we are going to send you out.
