{"id":36095,"date":"2014-07-31T18:27:11","date_gmt":"2014-07-31T18:27:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=36095"},"modified":"2014-07-31T19:45:29","modified_gmt":"2014-07-31T19:45:29","slug":"ebola-alert-no-screening-centre-at-kotoka","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/07\/ebola-alert-no-screening-centre-at-kotoka\/","title":{"rendered":"Ebola Alert: No screening centre at Kotoka"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Checks at the Kotoka International Airport has revealed that there is no screening centre for Ebola at the airport, contrary to Thursday&#8217;s announcement by the Minister of Health.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Agyeman-Mensah announced that screening centres have been established at all entry points into the country.<\/p>\n<p>According to Dr. Agyeman-Mensah\u00a0the disease surveillance system in Ghana has been placed on \u201chigh alert through intensification of viral hemorrhagic fever surveillance, the field officers are on the alert to pick, package and transport specimens to the lab for confirmation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He further added that health officers at various ports have been given orientation in the detection of cases at points of entry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have activated a system for screening all <span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"5ff189f2-dfdb-4a6b-a6ff-8e5900c69cdd\">passengers especially<\/span> from countries that have recorded cases,\u201d Dr. Agyeman-Mensah indicated.<\/p>\n<p>But <strong>Citi News\u2019<\/strong> reporters, Kojo Agyeman and Magdalene Lanyoh visited the Kotoka International Airport and reported that there is nothing at the airport indicative of a screening <span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"d9b0954c-5df1-4a60-b595-01bf6c0749a0\">centre<\/span> to test for any symptoms of Ebola from persons arriving in the country.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Click below to listen to the report.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?url=https%3A\/\/api.soundcloud.com\/tracks\/161133771&amp;auto_play=false&amp;hide_related=false&amp;show_comments=true&amp;show_user=true&amp;show_reposts=false&amp;visual=true\" height=\"450\" width=\"100%\" frameborder=\"no\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><br \/>\nBy: Evans Effah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Checks at the Kotoka International Airport has revealed that there is no screening centre for Ebola at the airport, contrary to Thursday&#8217;s announcement by the Minister of Health.
