{"id":360693,"date":"2017-10-10T11:35:09","date_gmt":"2017-10-10T11:35:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=360693"},"modified":"2017-10-10T11:35:09","modified_gmt":"2017-10-10T11:35:09","slug":"six-fuel-stations-shut-down-in-mankessim","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/10\/six-fuel-stations-shut-down-in-mankessim\/","title":{"rendered":"Six fuel stations shut down in Mankessim"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Mfantseman Municipal Assembly in the Central Region, has shut down six fuel stations at Mankessim, as a proactive measure to prevent any disaster.<\/p>\n<p>The operation, which started on Monday and saw the closure of Shell filling station in the area, is to be replicated in all communities in the Municipality.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-360702 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/closed-down-fuel-station-in-central-region-6.jpg\" alt=\"closed-down-fuel-station-in-central-region-6\" width=\"768\" height=\"576\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, the Municipal Engineer, William A. Kpoti, said the safety exercise is meant to keep standards in the Municipality following the gas explosion in Accra over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>He added that a committee has been formed which is spearheading the programme.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-360701\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/closed-down-fuel-station-in-central-region-5.jpg\" alt=\"closed-down-fuel-station-in-central-region-5\" width=\"768\" height=\"486\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome of the fillings stations have had their fire service permits expired for up to two or three years. Others have their permits with the EPA, expired so we have to close them down. Some have not been paying their property rates as well as their business operating permits.
