The board, chaired by Nana Aboagye Da Costa, has Okyeame Kwame and three other members.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The Human Rights Court, presided over by Justice Essel Mensah, on July 11 ordered the then GHAMRO board to step aside.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The court&#8217;s ruling followed an action by legendary musician Nana Kwame Ampadu and ninety nine (99) others who accused Carlos Sakyi, then chairman of GHAMRO, of embezzling funds collected on behalf of music rights owners in Ghana.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The new board has a six (6) month mandate, after which a substantive board would be appointed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>Below is a statement on the new development.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>STATEMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Following the Order of an Accra High Court in the matter of NANA KWAME AMPADU and 99 Others vrs GHANA MUSIC RIGHTS ORGANIZATION &amp; 12 Others, a five (5) \u2013 Member Board of Receiver-Managers was appointed to run the affairs of GHAMRO for six (6) months.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The Board is constituted by:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Nana Aboagye Da Costa \u2013 Musician\/Right Owner<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Kwame Nsiah-Apau \u2013 Musician\/Right Owner<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Enoch Agyepong \u2013 Music Publisher<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Ms Dorothy Habadah \u2013 State Attorney\/Representative of the Copyright Office<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Kow Sessah Acquaye \u2013 State Attorney\/ Representative from the Attorney General\u2019s Department<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">After its initial meeting on Tuesday the 29<sup>th<\/sup> of July, 2014, Nana Aboagye Da Costa was elected Chairman, Ms. Dorothy Habadah as Secretary and Kwame Nsiah-Appau (Okyeame Kwame) as the Public Relation Officer with the rest as members.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Further details of the first meeting of the Receiver-Managers and other related matters will be made public in an August Press Conference.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Thank you.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Kwame Nsiah-Appau<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">(P.R.O.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">By: Kojo Akoto Boateng\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ghana Music Right Organization (GHAMRO) has a new board.
