\/><\/p>\n<p>Students of the University of Ghana and PRESEC fled for their lives.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-360048 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/atomic-juncation-gas-explosion-site-6.jpg\" alt=\"atomic-juncation-gas-explosion-site-6\" width=\"700\" height=\"525\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It is currently unclear what triggered the fire or the number of casualties involved.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-360069 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Atomic-junction-gas-explosion-46-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"atomic-junction-gas-explosion-46\" width=\"620\" height=\"414\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Below is what we know so far:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The explosion occurred at the MANSCO gas station at Atomic Junction<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-360047 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/atomic-juncation-gas-explosion-site-5.jpg\" alt=\"atomic-juncation-gas-explosion-site-5\" width=\"700\" height=\"525\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The first explosion was heard at about 7:20pm<\/p>\n<p>The fire caught an adjacent fuel station<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-360068 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Atomic-junction-gas-explosion-44-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"atomic-junction-gas-explosion-44\" width=\"620\" height=\"414\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A second explosion was heard few minutes later<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-360066 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Atomic-junction-gas-explosion-42-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"atomic-junction-gas-explosion-42\" width=\"620\" height=\"414\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Some cars parked close by have been burnt to ashes<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-360067 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Atomic-junction-gas-explosion-43-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"atomic-junction-gas-explosion-43\" width=\"620\" height=\"414\" \/><\/p>\n<p>At least one person has been confirmed dead as of Saturday<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-360045 aligncenter\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Scores of injured people have been rushed to the Legon and Korle-Bu Teaching Hospitals<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-360065 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Atomic-junction-gas-explosion-41-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"atomic-junction-gas-explosion-41\" width=\"620\" height=\"414\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Residents of Bani and James Topp Nelson Yankah hall of the University of Ghana escaped to safety<\/p>\n<p>There was power outage at parts of the University of Ghana campus<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-360072 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Atomic-junction-gas-explosion-34-1024x683.jpg\"
