{"id":359880,"date":"2017-10-07T16:34:22","date_gmt":"2017-10-07T16:34:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=359880"},"modified":"2017-10-07T16:34:22","modified_gmt":"2017-10-07T16:34:22","slug":"police-on-manhunt-for-persons-who-turned-koforidua-river-into-blood","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/10\/police-on-manhunt-for-persons-who-turned-koforidua-river-into-blood\/","title":{"rendered":"Police on manhunt for persons who turned Koforidua river into \u2018blood\u2019 \u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Police in the Eastern Region are on a manhunt for persons who turned the Nsukwao River within the New Juaben Municipality red.<\/p>\n<p>The Nsukwao Township in Koforidua was agog on Saturday after residents saw the river that passes through the area turning red with some suspecting that it was blood.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 848px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><!--[if lt IE 9]><script>document.createElement('video');<\/script><![endif]-->\n<video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-359880-1\" width=\"848\" height=\"480\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/mp4\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/blood-water1.mp4?_=1\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/blood-water1.mp4\">http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/blood-water1.mp4<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<p>Some residents had immediately read superstition into the incident, as pictures of it that went viral on social media also suggested.<\/p>\n<p>But preliminary investigations by the police suggest that, the water changed its colour because some &#8220;unscrupulous&#8221; people poured certain chemicals into it.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-359888 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/more-blood-water-1.jpg\" alt=\"more-blood-water-1\" width=\"768\" height=\"521\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong> on the development, the Eastern Regional Police Commander in charge of Public Affairs ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, said the culprits will be dealt with accordingly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur preliminary investigations show that, it was not blood, but rather some unscrupulous persons might have poured some chemicals into it upstream and that was what was flowing downstream.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-359887 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/more-blood-water-3.jpg\" alt=\"more-blood-water-3\" width=\"768\" height=\"492\" \/><\/p>\n<p>He also told <strong>Citi New<\/strong>s that the river body is currently gaining its original form.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-359886 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/more-blood-water-2.jpg\" alt=\"more-blood-water-2\" width=\"768\" height=\"536\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The river as we speak now, is regaining its normal colour which is white and odorless.
