{"id":359539,"date":"2017-10-06T14:03:05","date_gmt":"2017-10-06T14:03:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=359539"},"modified":"2017-10-06T14:03:05","modified_gmt":"2017-10-06T14:03:05","slug":"book-launch-success-story-of-fidelity-bank","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/10\/book-launch-success-story-of-fidelity-bank\/","title":{"rendered":"Book Launch: Success story of Fidelity Bank \u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The success story of Ghanaian financial institution, Fidelity Bank has been featured in a book titled \u201cDeveloping Africa\u2019s Financial Services: The Importance of High Impact Entrepreneurship,\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The book was written by Prof. Dana Redford, President, Policy Experimentation and Evaluation Platform.<\/p>\n<p>The book addresses the key question of how entrepreneurial financial institutions have been able to rise in Africa, illustrating some inspiring success stories.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citibusinessnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/2.jpeg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-78134\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-78134\" src=\"http:\/\/citibusinessnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/2.jpeg\" alt=\"2\" width=\"1080\" height=\"720\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The 7th Chapter, with a special emphasis on Fidelity Bank, authored by Prof. Kwaku Appiah-Adu and Chris Boachie told the Fidelity story from an independent view under the subtitle; Fidelity Bank: Ghana\u2019s Banking Success Story.<\/p>\n<p>The objective of this chapter was to describe the key characteristics of high-impact entrepreneurships in the financial services start-up in South Saharan Africa.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citibusinessnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2017-10-06-at-1.34.08-PM-1.jpeg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-78135\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-78135\" src=\"http:\/\/citibusinessnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2017-10-06-at-1.34.08-PM-1.jpeg\" alt=\"WhatsApp Image 2017-10-06 at 1.34.08 PM (1)\" width=\"1040\" height=\"780\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It captured some of the key things undertaken by Fidelity Bank such as its CSR strategy, inclusive banking initiatives such as the Fidelity Smart Account, acquisition of ProCredit Savings and Loans, effective management system, proper HR polices amongst others as strategies that underlie the Bank impressive performance in its first decade of existence.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citibusinessnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2017-10-06-at-1.34.08-PM.jpeg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-78136\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-78136\" src=\"http:\/\/citibusinessnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2017-10-06-at-1.34.08-PM.jpeg\" alt=\"WhatsApp Image 2017-10-06 at 1.34.08 PM\" width=\"1040\" height=\"780\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the book, the Managing Director of Fidelity Bank, Mr. Jim Baiden, noted that Fidelity has indeed braced all odds to be where it is today.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe journey of Fidelity Bank has not been all rosy considering that we entered into the industry with stiff competition from both local and multinational banks. With determination and a focus on our vision to be a world-class bank however, we knew we could not afford to fail.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citibusinessnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2017-10-06-at-1.35.15-PM-1.jpeg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-78137\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-78137\" src=\"http:\/\/citibusinessnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2017-10-06-at-1.35.15-PM-1.jpeg\" alt=\"WhatsApp Image 2017-10-06 at 1.35.15 PM (1)\" width=\"1040\" height=\"780\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Paragraph four of page 161 of the book reads, \u201cTo ensure the relevance of their comprehensive range of products and services, Fidelity\u2019s businesses continually review the demographics of customer segments to ensure that their offerings meet the banking and financial needs of existing and potential customers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Baiden commented that \u201cthis couldn\u2019t have been said any better.
