{"id":358466,"date":"2017-10-02T14:31:09","date_gmt":"2017-10-02T14:31:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=358466"},"modified":"2017-10-02T14:31:09","modified_gmt":"2017-10-02T14:31:09","slug":"mmdas-wont-pay-for-nana-addos-trip-regional-minister","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/10\/mmdas-wont-pay-for-nana-addos-trip-regional-minister\/","title":{"rendered":"MMDAs won&#8217;t pay for Nana Addo&#8217;s trip &#8211; Regional Minister"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed, has directed all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in the region to disregard a circular which requested them to pay <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/10\/01\/nr-26-mmdas-to-contribute-ghc130000-for-nana-addos-visit\/\">Ghc5,000 each<\/a><\/strong><\/span> to fund President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo&#8217;s three-day official visit beginning October 6.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister in an official statement copied to\u00a0<strong>citifmonline. com<\/strong> implied that, his office did not endorse the earlier memo.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;VnZteGnoaHBMDUmyK54e0U70DAfaNgzd&#8221;]The statement however admitted that, the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives&#8217; caucus in the region, voluntarily made the earlier proposal which his office did not endorse.<\/p>\n<p>Salifu Saeed has therefore dismissed the earlier memo which went viral on both mainstream and social media.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the President&#8217;s trip is to be fully sponsored by the Presidency. The announcement about the payment became public after\u00a0<strong>citifmonline.com<\/strong> sighted a copy of the leaked circular.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Don\u2019t pay for Nana Addo\u2019s visit \u2013 O.B Amoah to MMDAs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the latest decision by the Northern Regional Minister to the MMDAs, comes after a Deputy Local Government Minister, O.B.
