{"id":358321,"date":"2017-09-28T18:09:15","date_gmt":"2017-09-28T18:09:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=358321"},"modified":"2017-11-10T11:09:56","modified_gmt":"2017-11-10T11:09:56","slug":"dkt-ghana-marks-world-contraception-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/09\/dkt-ghana-marks-world-contraception-day\/","title":{"rendered":"DKT Ghana marks World Contraception Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>DKT International, Inc Ghana (DKT) on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 organized a major float in the nation\u2019s capital to highlight the importance of Family Planning.<\/p>\n<p>The event also marked the celebration of this year\u2019s World Contraception Day (WCD).<\/p>\n<p>As part of educating consumers on contraceptives, DKT staff and supporters gave out Fiesta and Kiss Condoms for free.<\/p>\n<p>Starting off in Dzorwulu, the float finally converged at Rawlings Park, Accra, to educate the public on the correct use of family planning methods and to correct the myths surrounding contraceptives in a fun and engaging manner.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-358324 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/IMG-20171001-WA0015-640x427.jpg\" alt=\"img-20171001-wa0015-640x427\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Country Director for DKT, Mario E. Flores Alvarez noted, \u201cI believe that every day should be World Contraception Day.\u00a0 A woman should always be able to decide if and when she wants to have children.\u00a0 Having that ability, has well evidenced health and economic benefits for herself, her children, her partner, her family and for the entire country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She added, \u201cThat is why at DKT, we work hard to contribute in increasing modern contraceptive prevalence rate and reduce maternal mortality, by making quality family planning products and services available in Ghana.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-358323 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/IMG-20171001-WA0014-640x427.jpg\" alt=\"img-20171001-wa0014-640x427\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The annual worldwide WCD campaign centred around a vision where every pregnancy is wanted.
