Four rooms on the 6th Floor of Unity Hall, Block B at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi have been gutted by fire.<\/p>\n
A student,<\/strong> Hammond Kwabena Jamal told Citi News<\/strong> that the fire started around 3pm.<\/p>\n \u201cAs about 3:00pm I got information that the block was on fire so I decided to rush down there. When I got there and one of the rooms was on fire, that was Block B, the sixth floor I don\u2019t know the exact room number.”<\/p>\n He said the Fire Officers have arrived at the scene to put the fire out.<\/p>\n “It started for a while and after about 15 minutes the Fire Service reported, and then they were trying to get the water into the room but it was proving quite difficult. After a while the fire got into the next room. As at now I can say four rooms are burnt. The fire stopped by itself but the fire service personnel are still here,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n The extent of damage and the cause of the fire are yet to established.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
