{"id":353496,"date":"2017-09-14T15:26:48","date_gmt":"2017-09-14T15:26:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=353496"},"modified":"2017-11-10T11:23:48","modified_gmt":"2017-11-10T11:23:48","slug":"group-threatens-demo-in-u-s-over-withdrawal-of-exton-cubics-permit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/09\/group-threatens-demo-in-u-s-over-withdrawal-of-exton-cubics-permit\/","title":{"rendered":"Group threatens demo in U.S over withdrawal of Exton Cubic\u2019s permit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Members of a group calling itself Ashanti Youth for development are threatening to stage a massive demonstration in the United States next Thursday against the Akufo-Addo government, for revoking the mining license of Exton Cubic Group Limited.<\/p>\n<p>According to them, the planned demonstration will coincide with President Akuffo-Addo\u2019s visit to the U.S for the UN General Assembly Meeting.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;PsFoiTKUdxJg5kzSGQZh8rJfIUmmJLus&#8221;]Exton Cubic Group\u2019s license currently has been revoked by the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources with the excuse that they failed to meet the legal requirements.<\/p>\n<p>The company has since been prevented from prospecting bauxite at Nyinahini in the Ashanti Region.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, the Communications Director for Ashanti Youth for Development, Alex Kweku Asafo Adjei, said the demonstration is to also protest the extent to which &#8220;our \u00a0laws have been skewed to favour multinational companies just to take away our resources.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur brothers in the US are holding a demonstration against the President or the government of the day.
