{"id":352123,"date":"2017-09-10T12:27:02","date_gmt":"2017-09-10T12:27:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=352123"},"modified":"2017-11-10T11:59:38","modified_gmt":"2017-11-10T11:59:38","slug":"aayalolo-bus-service-trains-60-women-drivers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/09\/aayalolo-bus-service-trains-60-women-drivers\/","title":{"rendered":"Aayalolo Bus Service trains 60 women drivers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Scania Ghana in collaboration with Greater Accra Passenger Transport Executive (GAPTE) are set to train sixty female bus drivers as a means of employment creation.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Chief Executive Officer of GAPTE, Sampson Gyamenah, women must embrace new opportunities hence the project to train female drivers.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-352125 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/aayalolo-female-drivers-trained-2.jpg\" alt=\"aayalolo-female-drivers-trained-2\" width=\"768\" height=\"575\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Addressing the bus driver trainees, Mr.\u00a0 Gyamenah urged the women to be serious with the opportunity given them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am happy to note that many women have braved the storm and accepted the challenge by breaking many barriers in what was considered male dominated careers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-352127 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/aayalolo-female-drivers-trained-4.jpg\" alt=\"aayalolo-female-drivers-trained-4\" width=\"768\" height=\"575\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cHaving recognised that women to setup to up the table and accept new opportunities especially for the younger ones, Scania Ghana in collaboration with GAPTE, the Managers of the Aayalolo Bus Service has introduced this initiative to recruit and train female drivers for the Aayalolo fleet. The project aims at empowering women to become professional drivers to enable them become self-reliant and live lives of dignity.
