Speaking to Citi News<\/strong>, Israel Amenfia, the first vice-chairman of the local union of PURC, said he had no idea who was behind the lockout out and neither did the security on site own up for it.<\/p>\nHe however said the lockout was welcome because it was in service of a cause they supported.<\/p>\n
“…We are also amazed at the lockout but the posters you see on the door are things that we identify with; that we feel addresses our issues and we are very grateful to whoever did this on our behalf.”<\/p>\n
\u201cWe had intel that the board met and they are about meeting again just to reject her resignation. The people who work under her, the people she is supposed to work with\u2026 are not happy, including some members of management,\u201d Mr. Amenfia\u00a0said.<\/p>\n
Nana Yaa Jantuah served notice of her resignation after 13 years of service to the commission in May, and it was to take\u00a0effect on November 17, 2017. She proceeded on her accruable leave from Sunday, June 4.<\/p>\n
The workers, while waiting for a\u00a0response from management are\u00a0also calling on the government to reconstitute the board of the PURC.<\/p>\n
