{"id":351177,"date":"2017-09-06T12:10:52","date_gmt":"2017-09-06T12:10:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=351177"},"modified":"2017-11-10T12:04:53","modified_gmt":"2017-11-10T12:04:53","slug":"tma-suspends-carlos-ahenkorah-over-demolition-exercise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/09\/tma-suspends-carlos-ahenkorah-over-demolition-exercise\/","title":{"rendered":"TMA suspends Carlos Ahenkorah over demolition exercise"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) has suspended Member of Parliament for Tema West, Carlos Ahenkorah for six months.<\/p>\n<p>The decision was taken by the Public Relations and Complaints Committee (PRCC) of the Tema Metropolitan Assembly chaired by the presiding member of the Assembly, Richard Fiadomor.<\/p>\n<p>Carlos Ahenkorah lost his cool last week when he<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/09\/04\/angry-mp-chases-tma-demolition-task-force-photos\/\"><strong>\u00a0attacked\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/span>the Tema Metropolitan Assembly Works Engineer who was supervising the demolition of unauthorized structures erected on the edges of a road in the area.<\/p>\n<p>The unauthorized structures, according to the Engineer, Maxwell Adu Boateng, were obstructing movement and traffic along the stretch hence the exercise.<\/p>\n<p>Carlos Ahenkorah, who got wind of the exercise rushed to the site, allegedly attacked the TMA task-force and prevented them from demolishing the properties\u00a0at the Cocoa village.<\/p>\n<p>According to Mr. Fiadomor, the PRCC found the conduct of Mr. Ahenkorah unfortunate hence the suspension.<\/p>\n<p>The MP, who was invited to defend his actions failed to turn up at the General Assembly meeting which is presently underway.<\/p>\n<p>Two other Assembly members accused of also raining insults on the Metropolitan Chief Executive of TMA during a similar exercise in the Tema East constituency, have also been slapped with a total of 5 months suspension.<\/p>\n<p>One was slapped with two months and the other, three months.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Elvis Washington\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) has suspended Member of Parliament for Tema West, Carlos Ahenkorah for six months.
