{"id":350972,"date":"2017-09-05T17:01:37","date_gmt":"2017-09-05T17:01:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=350972"},"modified":"2017-11-10T12:05:31","modified_gmt":"2017-11-10T12:05:31","slug":"11-year-old-pupil-donates-gh%c2%a2400-coins-savings-to-cope","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/09\/11-year-old-pupil-donates-gh%c2%a2400-coins-savings-to-cope\/","title":{"rendered":"11-year-old pupil donates GH\u00a2400 &#8216;coins savings&#8217; to COPE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An 11-year-old pupil of Roman Ridge School in Accra, has donated his savings of more than 2 years to Citi FM\u2019s \u2018<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/08\/29\/citi-fm-targets-ghc250000-with-cope-fundraiser\/\"><strong>Citi Opportunity Project on Education<\/strong><\/a><\/span> (COPE)\u2019 initiative.<\/p>\n<p>Kekeli Eni, who heard about the initiative through his father, donated GH\u00a2453.20; coins\u00a0he had saved from pocket money received from his parents and other relatives.<\/p>\n<p>COPE is an initiative that seeks to provide full scholarships to brilliant but deprived students to further their education at the tertiary level.<\/p>\n<p>On August 29, <strong>Citi FM<\/strong> launched the 2017 edition of the project with the aim of raising GH\u00a2250,000 to support the tertiary education of 50 brilliant and needy students from across the country.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-350981 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/COPE-coins-1-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"cope-coins-1\" width=\"620\" height=\"414\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Kekeli\u2019s father, Mr. Eni, who also donated some amount of money to support the initiative brought along his son\u2019s contribution; coins of 1 cedi, 50, 20, 10, 5 and 1 pesewa in a paper bag.<\/p>\n<p>Following the call for donations made on air, many individuals and companies have contributed generously to support the cause.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Citi FM<\/strong> continues to encourage donations from individuals and corporate bodies to give to otherwise qualified but deprived Senior High School graduates the opportunity to further their education to the tertiary level.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to contribute<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Donations can be sent to the MTN mobile money number 0550 900 006.
