{"id":350673,"date":"2017-09-04T17:01:06","date_gmt":"2017-09-04T17:01:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=350673"},"modified":"2017-11-10T12:06:32","modified_gmt":"2017-11-10T12:06:32","slug":"vodafone-launches-financial-inclusion-project-for-women","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/09\/vodafone-launches-financial-inclusion-project-for-women\/","title":{"rendered":"Vodafone launches financial inclusion project for women"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Vodafone Ghana in collaboration with CARE International, have launched Project Revive, a flagship financial inclusion project for women in the Ga West and East Municipalities.<\/p>\n<p>The project would see groups of women under the Village Savings and Loans Scheme and Rural Project Support Network, introduced to financial inclusion opportunities including the use of Vodafone cash.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-350680 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/vodafone-4.jpg\" alt=\"vodafone-4\" width=\"768\" height=\"442\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the project, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Vodafone, Yolanda Cuba reiterated that, empowering women is very important for the growth of the country.<\/p>\n<p>Just like Vodafone&#8217;s Digital Revolution in Ghana where everyone is connected digitally,\u00a0she said, financial inclusion must also spread across board.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Financial inclusion is a big pillar to achieving\u00a0digital revolution in Ghana since about 50% of the population are not financially included,&#8221; she stated.<\/p>\n<p>Vodafone she said, would democratize communication for everyone to impact on financial inclusion.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-350677 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/vodafone-1.jpg\" alt=\"vodafone-1\" width=\"545\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;With that, many people can save through Vodafone cash, access insurance products, financial, technology and other services&#8221;, she added.<\/p>\n<p>She expressed appreciation to CARE for coming on board to ensure financial inclusion for women in Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Country Director of CARE International, Elkanah Odembo said the outfit for the past 20 has focused on empowering women in Ghana to ensure they are financially comfortable.<\/p>\n<p>He said they empower women economically to impact on their families and the country at large.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-350679 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/vodafone-3.jpg\" alt=\"vodafone-3\" width=\"768\" height=\"576\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Engaging women financially,\u00a0would ensure development, wealth creation and economic empowerment in Ghana&#8221;, he stated.<\/p>\n<p>Women he said, under the project would access different financial services and use mobile technology provided by Vodafone.<\/p>\n<p>He called for a stronger partnership with Vodafone as they look forward to strengthening more women in the country.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Source: Vodafone Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vodafone Ghana in collaboration with CARE International, have launched Project Revive, a flagship financial inclusion project for women in the Ga West and East Municipalities.
