At least nine have died in the Houston area.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"media-with-caption\">\n<div class=\"player-with-placeholder\"><img class=\"media-placeholder player-with-placeholder__image narrative-video-placeholder\" src=\"https:\/\/ichef.bbci.co.uk\/images\/ic\/720x405\/p05dkl9g.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Other stars including Kim Kardashian West and Kevin Hart have also vowed to help.<\/p>\n<p>Beyonce, who grew up in the city&#8217;s historic Third Ward, is famously proud of her Texan roots, referencing Houston in multiple songs, including Run The World (Girls), Formation and Flawless. She filmed the video for\u00a0Blow\u00a0in the city&#8217;s Funplex roller skating rink &#8211;\u00a0where she had one of her first dates.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, she posted an Instagram tribute to Houston, telling residents they were in her prayers, while posing with a Texas flag.<\/p>\n<div class=\"social-embed\">\n<div class=\"social-embed-post social-embed-instagram\">\n<div class=\"embed embed-instagram\">\n<div class=\"embed-region embed-core-hidden\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" id=\"instagram-embed-0\" class=\"instagram-media instagram-media-rendered\" src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/BYUY2sDg47b\/embed\/?cr=1&amp;v=7#%7B%22ci%22%3A0%2C%22os%22%3A27306.640000000003%7D\" width=\"300\" height=\"612\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" data-instgrm-payload-id=\"instagram-media-payload-0\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-report-js\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The star&#8217;s BeyGOOD foundation was established in 2013 and partners with global charities to provide housing, food and medical assistance to those in need.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian West said she and her sisters and their mother were donating $500,000 (\u00a3386,000) to the Red Cross and Salvation Army, writing: &#8220;Houston we are praying for you!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Other artists including Drake and Travis Scott have sent direct aid and messages of support to Texas since the storm began.<\/p>\n<p>Coldplay, who had to postpone a concert in Houston last week because of the hurricane, have also written a song for those affected by the floods.<\/p>\n<p>They\u00a0debuted the track\u00a0in Miami on Monday night, with Chris Martin telling the audience it would only be played once.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"media-landscape has-caption full-width\"><span class=\"image-and-copyright-container\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"responsive-image__img js-image-replace\" src=\"https:\/\/ichef-1.bbci.co.uk\/news\/624\/cpsprodpb\/98F6\/production\/_97585193_1b5b6a22-e7a4-404d-957b-d9b811019e49.jpg\" alt=\"Chris Martin\" width=\"976\" height=\"549\" data-highest-encountered-width=\"624\" \/><\/span><\/figure>\n<p>&#8220;This is because we all grew up loving country music, and of course that&#8217;s kind of what we think of when we go to Texas,&#8221; Martin said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So, if you&#8217;ll bear with us, this is a new song and we&#8217;ll never play this again.
