GCB Bank Ltd has announced that the transition of UT and Capital bank into GCB will take up to 6 months.<\/p>\n
The bank which earlier announced that it had assumed the businesses of UT Bank Ltd and Capital Bank in a purchase and assumption transaction by the Bank of Ghana, effective Monday, August 14, 2017 says GCB\u00a0 has\u00a0 in\u00a0 effect\u00a0 assumed\u00a0 the\u00a0 53\u00a0 branches\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 two\u00a0 banks\u00a0 thereby growing its network to 214 branches across the country.<\/p>\n
GCB Bank Ltd., is the largest indigenous bank in the country with an asset base of GHS 6.3 billion.<\/p>\n
According to GCB\u00a0in a statement copied to Citi Business News<\/strong>, it will bring\u00a0its\u00a0 experience,\u00a0 expertise\u00a0 and\u00a0 capacity\u00a0 for\u00a0 managing\u00a0 a sustainable and profitable institution to the assumed businesses.<\/p>\n Meanwhile customers\u00a0 of\u00a0 UT\u00a0 and\u00a0 Capital Bank\u00a0 have been ‘assured\u00a0of \u00a0unfettered\u00a0 access\u00a0 to their funds through their known channels and staff of the assumed banks, working with GCB staff to ensure seamless transactions.\u00a0 Corporate\u00a0 and\u00a0 SME\u00a0 customers\u00a0 will\u00a0 continue\u00a0 to\u00a0 work\u00a0 with\u00a0 their Relationship Managers in collaboration with GCB to facilitate a smooth transition and business continuity.’<\/p>\n Also according to GCB, ‘the existing channels of service will remain functional\u00a0while they\u00a0are rebranded to reflect the change in ownership.
