{"id":3445,"date":"2014-03-03T09:59:01","date_gmt":"2014-03-03T09:59:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=3445"},"modified":"2014-03-03T11:07:15","modified_gmt":"2014-03-03T11:07:15","slug":"kath-missing-baby-saga-i-doubt-my-baby-is-dead-mother-cries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/03\/kath-missing-baby-saga-i-doubt-my-baby-is-dead-mother-cries\/","title":{"rendered":"KATH missing baby saga: I doubt my baby is dead &#8211; Mother cries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/kath-2_0.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2750\" alt=\"kath (2)_0\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/kath-2_0-300x187.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"187\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/kath-2_0-300x187.jpg 300w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/kath-2_0.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Mother of the missing baby at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Suwaiba Mumuni has told <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, she doubts her baby boy is dead and is hopeful he will be found.<\/p>\n<p>She bemoaned the mystery surrounding the disappearance of her baby which has generated ceaseless debate in media cycles.<\/p>\n<p>She implied that the disappearance of her baby\u2019s body after delivery is still shrouded in doubt.<\/p>\n<p>Frustrated Suwaiba said the family\u2019s next line of action will be determined by the outcome of the ministerial committee investigating the matter.<\/p>\n<p>She narrated her ordeal in an exclusive interview saying, \u201cgovernment says they are investigating the matter and we are still waiting for the outcome.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She was of the opinion that \u201cthe way the hospital authorities and everybody involved in the matter are having different sayings I am convinced that my baby is alive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to her, soon after giving birth at 3 am, she saw the baby besides her crying and that she dozed off after taking some pain killer adding that the baby vanished when she was later asked to relocate to another ward called \u201cA\u201d one.<\/p>\n<p>She narrated that upon her request for her baby, the midwife who supervised her safe delivery told her the baby was dead saying, \u201cI requested for the remains for burial and she told me she was going to put everything in a box for me to take it home but they did not produce my baby.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She was later told the hospital cleaner added the remains of the baby to some gathered rubbish and burnt it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey earlier told my mother in-law that my dead baby had been deposited at the morgue and my in-law said it was beyond her control and went home and informed the family head,\u201d she said adding that \u201cwhen our family elders came to the hospital they searched everywhere and could not find the body of my baby who they said was dead.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to her, the KATH mortuary man called Samari, was called to the ward and he denied knowledge of receiving the remains of the said baby and \u201cthey combed everywhere but could not find my baby.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Spokesperson for Suwaiba\u2019s family, Ahmed Rahaman has served notice of pressuring government to ensure that the baby is produced dead or alive as directed by the ministry of health.<\/p>\n<p>He said, seeking legal redress on the matter was part of their considerations. \u201cWe will use everything legally to pursue this case; we will do anything that is been backed by law to ensure justice for our sister and everybody in Ghana here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>By: Abdul Karim Naatogmah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mother of the missing baby at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Suwaiba Mumuni has told Citi News, she doubts her baby boy is dead and is hopeful he will be found.
