It will include 15 creative spaces with events and exhibitions that speak in new and exciting ways to WATA MATA, the theme for the 2017 festival.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/showbiz.citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/cc3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-52707\" src=\"http:\/\/showbiz.citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/cc3.jpg\" sizes=\"(max-width: 815px) 100vw, 815px\" srcset=\"http:\/\/showbiz.citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/cc3.jpg 700w, http:\/\/showbiz.citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/cc3-300x169.jpg 300w\" alt=\"\" width=\"815\" height=\"459\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Over the last six years, CHALE WOTE has propelled the development of an independent creative and arts economy in Accra.<\/p>\n<p>The CHALE WOTE Street Art Festival is an alternative platform that brings art, music, dance and performance out into the streets. The community-based festival takes place in James Town \u2013 one of Accra\u2019s most historic communities \u2013 and targets exchanges between Ghana-based and international artists creating art together. Each year, the festival is produced by ACCRA [dot] ALT and REDD KAT Pictures in collaboration with a number of cultural organisations across the city.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/showbiz.citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/cc2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-52708\" src=\"http:\/\/showbiz.citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/cc2.jpg\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" srcset=\"http:\/\/showbiz.citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/cc2.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/showbiz.citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/cc2-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/showbiz.citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/cc2-768x512.jpg 768w\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>CHALE WOTE means \u201cman, let\u2019s go!\u201d in Ga (the language of the people of greater Accra) and it is also a reference to flip flops.
