{"id":342592,"date":"2017-08-06T10:28:00","date_gmt":"2017-08-06T10:28:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=342592"},"modified":"2017-08-06T10:28:00","modified_gmt":"2017-08-06T10:28:00","slug":"british-model-kidnapped-in-milan-to-be-sold-in-online-auction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/08\/british-model-kidnapped-in-milan-to-be-sold-in-online-auction\/","title":{"rendered":"British model kidnapped in Milan &#8216;to be sold in online auction&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"story-body__introduction\">A British model was drugged and kidnapped in Milan to be sold in an online auction, say Italian police.<\/p>\n<p>The woman, 20, had arrived in the city to take part in a photo shoot arranged through her agent, but was abducted and held captive for six days.<\/p>\n<p>Polish national Lukasz Herba, 30, who lives in the UK, has been arrested on kidnapping charges, police said.<\/p>\n<p>The Foreign Office said it was providing consular support to a British woman.<\/p>\n<p>The model, who has not been named, arrived in Milan on 10 July.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"media-landscape has-caption full-width\"><span class=\"image-and-copyright-container\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"responsive-image__img js-image-replace\" src=\"https:\/\/ichef-1.bbci.co.uk\/news\/624\/cpsprodpb\/FF34\/production\/_97223356_1269a86d-bdf5-4661-9e51-8dcfe1c4384c.jpg\" alt=\"Photo showing a person inside a large bag\" width=\"976\" height=\"480\" data-highest-encountered-width=\"624\" \/><\/span><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"media-landscape has-caption full-width\"><span class=\"image-and-copyright-container\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"responsive-image__img js-image-replace\" src=\"https:\/\/ichef-1.bbci.co.uk\/news\/624\/cpsprodpb\/14D54\/production\/_97223358_model5.jpg\" alt=\"Photo of the outside of the apartment where the woman was kidnapped\" width=\"976\" height=\"549\" data-highest-encountered-width=\"624\" \/><\/span><\/figure>\n<p>She arrived at an apartment the following day for the shoot, where she was attacked by two men,\u00a0said police.<\/p>\n<p>Police said the woman was drugged, handcuffed and loaded into a bag and put into the boot of car which was driven to an isolated house in Borgial, northwest of Turin.<\/p>\n<p>Italian prosecutor Paolo Storari said: &#8220;The victim was doped with ketamine &#8211; then she was locked in a bag and carried for hours in a car.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Think what could would have happened if she suffered from asthma.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The woman was kept handcuffed to a wooden chest of drawers in the bedroom for six days until she was released and taken to the British consulate in Milan, according to police.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators said they discovered the kidnapper had organised several online auctions for the sale of abducted girls, which included a description and an opening price.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"media-landscape has-caption full-width\"><span class=\"image-and-copyright-container\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"responsive-image__img js-image-replace\" src=\"https:\/\/ichef.bbci.co.uk\/news\/624\/cpsprodpb\/3FCC\/production\/_97223361_model7.jpg\" alt=\"Photo of the house where the woman was held captive\" width=\"976\" height=\"549\" data-highest-encountered-width=\"624\" \/><\/span><span class=\"image-and-copyright-container\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"responsive-image__img js-image-replace\" src=\"https:\/\/ichef.bbci.co.uk\/news\/624\/cpsprodpb\/8DEC\/production\/_97223363_milano-modella-3-550.jpg\" alt=\"Photo of the bedroom where the woman was held\" width=\"976\" height=\"430\" data-highest-encountered-width=\"624\" \/><\/span><\/figure>\n<p>Police said it was unclear whether he had really abducted the victims or invented them for the auction.<\/p>\n<p>The kidnapper used an encrypted account to ask the model&#8217;s agent for \u00a3230,000 ($300,000) to stop her from being sold in auction.<\/p>\n<p>He claimed he was working on behalf of the &#8220;Black Death Group&#8221;, an organisation which operates in the deep web for illegal traffics, police said.<\/p>\n<p>The victim told police the kidnapper said he would free her because the group had not realised she had a small child and they did not deal with mothers, prosecutors added.<\/p>\n<p>Investigations into the case are being carried out by authorities in Italy, Poland and the UK.<\/p>\n<p>A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said an address in Sampson Close, Oldbury, had been raided on 18 July in connection with the inquiry.<\/p>\n<p>It is understood that the raid was led by Derbyshire Police, assisted by West Midlands officers.<\/p>\n<p>The kidnapper was captured by police as he was accompanying the model to the British Consulate in Milan,\u00a0according to the Daily Telegraph.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Source: BBC<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A British model was drugged and kidnapped in Milan to be sold in an online auction, say Italian police.
