Poverty alleviation fund Managers, SEND-Ghana has begun disbursing a 700,000 Canadian Dollar package as loans to small holder farmers in the eastern corridor of the Northern Region.

So far, a sum of GHC 454,950 has been disbursed to 800 small holder farmers comprising 449 men and 351 women in the Kpandai, Nanumba North and East Gonja districts.

Depending on the size of the farmlands, each beneficiary received between GHC450 and GHC900 cedis subject to repaying within nine months.

This is meant to intensify pro-poor interventions implemented by SEND-Ghana and its collaborators to improve the livelihoods of rural dwellers whose economic main stay is agriculture.
