{"id":341267,"date":"2017-08-02T11:28:45","date_gmt":"2017-08-02T11:28:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=341267"},"modified":"2017-08-02T11:28:45","modified_gmt":"2017-08-02T11:28:45","slug":"2-grabbed-for-issuing-fake-vehicle-number-plates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/08\/2-grabbed-for-issuing-fake-vehicle-number-plates\/","title":{"rendered":"2 grabbed for issuing fake vehicle number plates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Upper East Regional office of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has arrested two persons suspected to be issuing fake licenses and number plates to vehicle owners in the region.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects were arrested in their hide out in the Ashanti region upon a tip-off.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-341269\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/DVLA-fake-plates-4.jpg\" alt=\"dvla-fake-plates-4\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The two suspects, Mohammed Awal age 29 and Moro Bukari age 52 work as agents of HFC Embossment Company Limited in Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi.<\/p>\n<p>They are allegedly involved in a syndicate that facilitates the procurement and issuance of fake licenses, number plates as well as processing of passport.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-341270\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/DVLA-fake-plates-1.jpg\" alt=\"dvla-fake-plates-1\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, the acting Upper East Regional manager of DVLA, Mutawakil Abdulai said the suspects have been handed over to the police for prosecution.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We found fake enbossment number plates for motors and vehicles, transfer and registration documents for motors and vehicles, road weary certificates. They also produce fake insurance stickers, international driving permits, DV plates among others&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-341272\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/DVLA-fake-plates-3.jpg\" alt=\"dvla-fake-plates-3\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They were also involved in the processing of fake travelling passports and the procurement of customs duty for their clients.
