{"id":340817,"date":"2017-07-31T12:49:27","date_gmt":"2017-07-31T12:49:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=340817"},"modified":"2017-11-14T17:15:44","modified_gmt":"2017-11-14T17:15:44","slug":"unemployed-nurses-clash-with-health-ministry-security-men","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/07\/unemployed-nurses-clash-with-health-ministry-security-men\/","title":{"rendered":"Unemployed nurses clash with Health Ministry security men"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A group of <a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/07\/10\/unemployed-private-nurses-angry-over-discriminatory-posting\/\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>unemployed nurses<\/strong><\/span><\/a> picketing the Ministry of Health to demand immediate posting clashed with some security personnel at the Ministry who tried to stop them from entering the Ministry\u2019s compound earlier this morning.<\/p>\n<p>The personnel had locked the main gate to the Ministry\u2019s compound but the agitated nurses forced their way onto the compound triggering a fierce challenge by the security officers.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;NKxnqmSRNPnsyEvkztTojhlm5lBzPjfZ&#8221;]The Coalition of Unemployed Private Nurses, however, succeeded in pitching camp on the compound with the determination to stay there until the ministry had granted them their request.<\/p>\n<p>The coalition, made up of over 3,000 trained nurses from various private nursing training schools lamented that government had consistently discriminated against them by prioritizing the recruitment of their colleagues trained in public nursing training schools.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-340819\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Unemployed-nurses-9.jpeg\" alt=\"unemployed-nurses-9\" width=\"1080\" height=\"607\" \/><\/p>\n<p>At a press conference, the spokesperson for the group, Doreen Boateng, called on\u00a0government takes urgent steps to ensure they are posted to serve as <a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/04\/26\/bonded-nurses-issue-10-day-ultimatum-over-delayed-posting\/\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>nurses<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>at various health facilities.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-340823\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Unemployed-nurses-2.jpeg\" alt=\"unemployed-nurses-2\" width=\"1080\" height=\"607\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-340824\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Unemployed-nurses-3.jpeg\" alt=\"unemployed-nurses-3\" width=\"1080\" height=\"607\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe paid our own tuition fees. So we should be the first to be on the list for government posting. We didn\u2019t burden the state.
