The Police Administration says it is ready to police and\u00a0protect workers who will\u00a0be demonstrating at\u00a0Organised Labour\u2019s demonstration on Thursday.<\/p>\n

According to the police, the general public should feel free to go about their daily \u2018\u2019economic and social activities\u2019\u2019 without fear as it is in full control.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019 The Police wish to assure the public that the necessary preparation, within the constraints earlier communicated, have been made to ensure law and order, for the citizenry to go about their daily economic and social activities without let or hindrance,\u2019\u2019 a statement signed by the Director General, Public Affairs Dept. of the Ghana Police, Rev David Ampah-Bennin (DCOP) said.<\/p>\n

The statement further noted that the police can be reached on the emergency numbers; MTN and VODAFONE \u2013 18555, ALL OTHER NETWORKS \u2013 191.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Organised Labour declared a one-day national protest and is asking all workers under the umbrella to boycott work on Thursday, 24th July, 2014.<\/p>\n

\u201d\u2026To back these demands and as a demonstration of our serious concern over the existing state of affairs, Organised Labour declares a one day national protestation on Thursday July 24, 2014,\u201d said the\u00a0General Secretary of the Trades Union Congress (TUC), Kofi Asamoah.<\/p>\n

He explained that on that day, \u201call workers including those of you in the media, formal and informal are to stay away from work and converge at designated locations in Accra and other regional capitals to demonstrate.\u201d<\/p>\n
