Vetting of aspirants for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential race begins on Thursday ahead of the party\u2019s special congress on August 30.<\/p>\n

The Vetting Committee is chaired by party stalwart and former Member of the Council of State, Ama Busia.<\/p>\n

Other members of the Committee include Professor Michael Oquaye who is Chairman of the party\u2019s Constitutional and Legal Affairs, former Chief of Staff and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Kwadwo Mpianin is also a member by virtue of his position as Chairman of the Finance Committee.<\/p>\n

Most Rev. Dr. Asante Antwi who is Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee is also a member of the Committee.<\/p>\n

Former National Chairman, Peter Mac Manu concludes the list of members of the Vetting Committee.<\/p>\n

The nine-member Vetting Committee will begin sitting on Thursday to examine the nomination forms of the seven presidential aspirants.<\/p>\n

The seven aspirants are Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo -Addo,2012 presidential candidate of the party; Mr Alan Kwadjo Kyerematen, a former Minister; Mr Francis Addai Nimoh, MP for Mampong; and Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku, also a former Minister.<\/p>\n

The rest are Mr Stephen Asamoah Boateng, also a former Minister, Mr Joe Ghartey, Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament and MP for Essikado-Ketan; and Mr Kofi Osei Ameyaw, MP for Assuogyaman.<\/p>\n
