{"id":336301,"date":"2017-07-13T19:09:00","date_gmt":"2017-07-13T19:09:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=336301"},"modified":"2017-07-13T19:09:00","modified_gmt":"2017-07-13T19:09:00","slug":"sri-emas-touts-role-in-start-of-oil-production-at-cape-three-points","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/07\/sri-emas-touts-role-in-start-of-oil-production-at-cape-three-points\/","title":{"rendered":"SRI EMAS touts role in start of oil production at Cape Three Points"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SRI EMAS Limited (SEL), the company responsible for the\u00a0complete\u00a0subsea architecture\u00a0installation\u00a0<wbr \/>including\u00a0Structures, Flowlines, Umbilical and Risers for the FPSO Kufuor has expressed its joy at the commencement of production of oil at Cape Three Points.<\/p>\n<p>The installed hardware\u00a0are the conduits through which\u00a0the oil extracted from\u00a0below\u00a0the seabed\u00a0is moved\u00a0to the floating production, storage and offloading unit (FPSO) &#8211; John Agyekum Kufuor.<\/p>\n<p>President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo last week turned the valves on Ghana\u2019s third FPSO at\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_2047149303\"><span class=\"aQJ\">11.38am<\/span><\/span>, to signify the start of formal commercial production on the Sankofa-Gye Nyame oil and gas field.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_336306\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-336306\" style=\"width: 620px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/1.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-large wp-image-336306\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/1-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"SEL Staff at Head Office Accra\" width=\"620\" height=\"465\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-336306\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">SEL Staff at Head Office Accra<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>According to the Legal Counsel at the company, Carla Olympio, its efficient work on the project factored in the commencement of production of oil three months ahead of schedule.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement from ENI\u2019s press office published in the media, Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi stated that starting production only two and a half years after the approval of the Development Plan \u2013- is an extraordinary result. It certifies our exploration skills and knowledge, as well as our field development vision, and it confirms the effectiveness of ENI\u2019s new operational model, where they have a central role in project management, aimed at improving time-to-market.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_336307\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-336307\" style=\"width: 620px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/2.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-large wp-image-336307\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/2-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"SEL Ghanaian Engineers at work aboard the EMAS SubSea Construction Vessel\" width=\"620\" height=\"465\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-336307\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">SEL Ghanaian Engineers at work aboard the EMAS SubSea Construction Vessel<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The OCTP integrated oil &amp; gas development is made up of the Sankofa Main, Sankofa East and Gye-Nyame fields, which are located about 60\u00a0kilometers\u00a0off Ghana\u2019s Western Region coast.\u00a0ENI\u2019s statement further explained that the fields have about 770 million barrel of oil equivalent (mboe) in place, of which 500 million barrels are oil and 270 mboe are non-associated gas (about 40 billion cubic meters).<br clear=\"none\" \/><br clear=\"none\" \/>&#8220;Thanks to the laudable efforts of the Petroleum Commission in enforcing the Local Content Law, SRI EMAS has been able to play a critical role, in ENI\u2019s production of First Oil.\u201d Said SRI EMAS Local Content Manager, Miss Lydia Alomatu.\u00a0The project includes the development of gas fields whose production will be\u00a0utilized\u00a0entirely by Ghana\u2019s domestic market.
