{"id":33534,"date":"2014-07-22T10:44:34","date_gmt":"2014-07-22T10:44:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=33534"},"modified":"2014-07-22T10:44:34","modified_gmt":"2014-07-22T10:44:34","slug":"german-farmers-create-world-cup-themed-labyrinth-in-honour-of-win","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/07\/german-farmers-create-world-cup-themed-labyrinth-in-honour-of-win\/","title":{"rendered":"German farmers create World Cup-themed labyrinth in honour of win"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A pair of German farmers have fashioned their own unique tribute to the country&#8217;s World Cup-winning team by carving a football-themed maze into one of their fields.<\/p>\n<p>Ulli and Corinne Ernst have converted some of their land in Utting, Bavaria to toast Joachim Low and his squad following their triumph in Brazil this summer.<\/p>\n<p>The maze &#8211; which depicts a player performing an overhead kick in front of the Brazilian flag and includes the flags for the top three teams in the tournament of Germany, Argentina and the Netherlands &#8211; is 18,000 square metres in size.<\/p>\n<p>The Ernsts and their team of helpers began sowing the field in April, using hemp, corn, rapeseed, sunflowers and common mallow.<\/p>\n<p>Visitors will be able to revel in getting lost in the labyrinth until late September.<\/p>\n<p>Germany stormed to victory this summer, beating Argentina 1-0 after extra time in the final to win their first World Cup in 24 years and become the first European team to lift the trophy on South American soil.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Source: Mirror<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A pair of German farmers have fashioned their own unique tribute to the country&#8217;s World Cup-winning team by carving a football-themed maze into one of their fields.
