Police in the Western Region have declared owners of a Galamsey pit believed to have killed about 14 people in Prestea Nsuta wanted.<\/p>\n
17 people are believed to be trapped in the pit which collapsed on them while they sought to mine there, contrary to government’s directive.<\/p>\n
Rescue efforts are currently underway to retrieve the bodies.<\/p>\n
Prestea District Police Commander, Superintendent Atsu Dzineku who confirmed the news to Citi News<\/strong> said the Police had began investigations into the incident, adding that those “found culpable will be dealt with.”<\/p>\n
