The National Treasurer of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Akane Adams, says the management of energy-sector think-tank, Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP), must be invited by the national security for questioning over claims they made in connection with the alleged improper sale of contaminated fuel by the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation (BOST).<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”v4pZkKf9OvelUWelWNSi12PW7PM8PsvQ”]According to him, the Center must be made to substantiate claims that some of the contaminated fuel was already on the Ghanaian market.<\/p>\n
ACEP alleged last week that, some of the contaminated fuel BOST had sold to some private companies were already at various pumps in the country and was being sold to unsuspecting motorists.<\/p>\n
The allegation sparked some anxiety among motorists in the country. But according to Adams, ACEP’s comment must not be ignored but thoroughly investigated.<\/p>\n
In a statement copied to citifmonline.com<\/strong>, he said ACEP’s clarity on the matter will help guide consumers on where to make fuel purchases to avoid vehicle breakdowns.<\/p>\n Read the full statement below:<\/strong><\/p>\n The general public deserves to know the exact location or point of sale the energy think thank Africa Center for energy policy ACEP is alleged to have purchased some liters of the contaminated fuel already released into the Ghanaian market.<\/p>\n This knowledge and information would help to guide and protect all prospective consumers from also purchasing the contaminated fuel for use.<\/p>\n It is a matter of national security concern and we call upon the national security to invite ACEP for further interrogation to establish if indeed some litres of the contaminated fuel is already released into the market or not.<\/p>\n Whilst we wait for the eight-member ministerial committee to commence investigations, we trust ACEP will also be very useful to the committee or to the national security in providing a lead into the exact point of sale by which their outfit had purchased the alleged contaminated fuel into their vehicles as alleged by the ACEP executive dierector Mr. Ben Boakye few days ago in the viral media.<\/p>\n The public and all fuel consumers wish to know the truth as the claims by ACEP could amount to causing fear and panic.
