Many residents were forced to vacate their homes on Sunday dawn when the waves flooded their rooms amidst sand.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-331728 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/anglo-beach-residents-5-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"anglo-beach-residents-5\" width=\"684\" height=\"385\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-331727 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/anglo-beach-residents-4-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"anglo-beach-residents-4\" width=\"705\" height=\"397\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-331726 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/anglo-beach-residents-3-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"anglo-beach-residents-3\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Whist residents are still counting their losses, a community elder, John Kennedy, is appealing to the government to revisit an abandoned affordable housing project started for the community some 25 years ago.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-331723 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/anglo-beach-residents-20-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"anglo-beach-residents-20\" width=\"695\" height=\"391\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-331722 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/anglo-beach-residents-19-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"anglo-beach-residents-19\" width=\"744\" height=\"419\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-331721 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/anglo-beach-residents-18-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"anglo-beach-residents-18\" width=\"735\" height=\"414\" \/><br \/>\nHe said, \u201cWhen similar thing happened to us about 25 years ago, we called for resettlement.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-331720 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/anglo-beach-residents-17-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"anglo-beach-residents-17\" width=\"675\" height=\"380\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-331719 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/anglo-beach-residents-16-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"anglo-beach-residents-16\" width=\"682\" height=\"384\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-331717 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/anglo-beach-residents-14-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"anglo-beach-residents-14\" width=\"705\" height=\"397\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Rural Housing at the time came in to build us affordable houses. But we do not know what happened, they came in later on and packed their things away\u2026.we are always calling. Whenever the tides rise, we call for this resettlement\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The chief and elders of Anlo Beach have already secured a new site. \u201cWhat is left is the financial support for us to move to the area, so that our current place becomes a business enclave and the new site becomes where we sleep. We are appealing to the government to revisit the support they earlier had for us,&#8221; Mr. Kennedy added.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-331714 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/anglo-beach-residents-11-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"anglo-beach-residents-11\" width=\"741\" height=\"417\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-331713 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/anglo-beach-residents-10-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"anglo-beach-residents-10\" width=\"762\" height=\"429\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Anlo Beach community is known for the harvesting of shrimps for &#8216;Shito.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-331712 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/anglo-beach-residents-9-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"anglo-beach-residents-9\" width=\"743\" height=\"418\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The community is accessed by either a canoe over River Prah through Shama from the western part of the community or by road from the northern part.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-331716 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/anglo-beach-residents-13-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"anglo-beach-residents-13\" width=\"693\" height=\"390\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It has one of the cleanest beaches in the Western Region.
