{"id":331237,"date":"2017-06-19T13:56:31","date_gmt":"2017-06-19T13:56:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=331237"},"modified":"2017-11-14T17:12:35","modified_gmt":"2017-11-14T17:12:35","slug":"anas-stephen-appiah-others-honoured-by-allianz-ghana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/06\/anas-stephen-appiah-others-honoured-by-allianz-ghana\/","title":{"rendered":"Anas, Stephen Appiah, others honoured\u00a0by\u00a0Allianz Ghana"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ace Investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, celebrated software engineer Farida Bedwei and former black stars skipper Stephen Appiah were among the six individuals honoured at the maiden edition of the Allianz Awards.<\/p>\n<p>The other award winners include Olympic athlete Emmanuel Ofosu Yeboah, Paralympian Charles Nartei and anti-human trafficking activist Sheila Sossu Perenyi.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-331241 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/anas-others-honoured-5.jpg\" alt=\"anas-others-honoured-5\" width=\"768\" height=\"432\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The awards ceremony which is the creation of Allianz Ghana, an established stakeholder in the Ghanaian insurance market, in collaboration with OAfrica was organised to celebrate people who have conquered their challenges in life to succeed.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the receipt of a Lifetime Achievement Award, the former captain of the Senior National Team Stephen Appiah commended Allianz insurance for investing in the underprivileged.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-331243 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/anas-others-honoured-1.jpg\" alt=\"anas-others-honoured-1\" width=\"768\" height=\"432\" \/><\/p>\n<p>He also recounted some striving moments of his football career.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday, the charcoal seller\u2019s son has won a white shirt. It has been a long journey from Chorkor to Italy, to East Legon. God is good, on behalf of my wife my family, I will like to say big thanks to God for how far He has brought me, I will like to thank the organisers of this wonderful event and all those who supported me throughout my career\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-331239 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/anas-others-honoured-3.jpg\" alt=\"anas-others-honoured-3\" width=\"768\" height=\"432\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI remember Chorkor days when after training you don\u2019t even have food to eat and the kenkey sellers try to offer you something, but today I\u2019m standing here as Stephen Appiah. This is going to motivate me to do more for God and country\u201d the former Black Stars skipper added.<\/p>\n<p>On his part, ace investigative journalist Anass Aremeyaw Anas said there is still more to be done for self and country after he collected the biggest award for the Brave category.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-331242 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/anas-others-honoured-6.jpg\" alt=\"anas-others-honoured-6\" width=\"768\" height=\"432\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>ABOUT THE AWARDS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Allianz Ghana, an established stakeholder in the Ghanaian insurance market, in collaboration with OAfrica, organised the \u201cAllianz Awards 2017,\u201d a special ceremony which recognises individuals who have gone above and beyond all kinds of difficulties to achieve their dreams.
